Valentine's Day

Blake and Tate both had great Valentine's Day parties.
Blake had fun decorating sugar cookies and came home with a bag full of great Valentine's from his classmates.
Blake was very nice to share some of his treats with Tate and Ryan.

John surprised me by coming home for lunch and bringing me these beautiful tulips and a Jimmy Jones sandwich.  I got myself a box of Sees dark chocolate truffles.
I couldn't ask for anything more!
Tate's class Valentine's Day party was the last party I got to plan for the year.
The kids made these cute VDay bags in class earlier during the week.
Tate's bag came home overflowing.
The first activity we did was a "Heart Attack."
The kids were learning about compliments and wrote something to the principal on a paper heart and then decorated the heart with stickers and stamps.
When everyone had their heart finished, the class snuck down to the Principal's office and Heart Attacked it!  They were so cute trying to be very sneaky and not get caught.
The principal came in to class a little later and was so happy about her surprise.
Then, the class split up and rotated to the different stations.
One was a snack-donut and juice.
The next station was making this dog craft out of hearts.
"Woof you be my Valentine?"
Last station was graphing, sorting and estimating with conversation hearts.
Tate looks super excited to be at this station:)
The last class activity was a "Heart Walk" to music.
We did a few rounds of dancing to the music and calling numbers that were on the hearts.
Everyone ended up getting a prize when we were done.
A fun day that unfortunately ended in Blake getting the stomach flu.
He spent the afternoon and evening sick on the couch.
Luckily, it seemed to be a 24-hour bug and Blake was feeling much better the next day.
