Rough Week

There are so many captions for these next two pictures that come to mind . . . he stole the covers one too many times, you should see the other guy, Tate's got to learn some anger management, don't go out in Kent after 10pm, etc. etc. The truth is two competitive Scout leaders and a basketball game. I'm not exactly sure what kind of example the leaders are setting about teamwork and good sportsmanship because John has been coming home hurt a lot these past few weeks.

John and the other leader were both going for the ball on the ground and two heads hit--leaving John with a really swollen, black eye (this picture is a week after the incident) and the other leader with a open wound on his head. Tate has been practicing his colors as the black eye has gone through a number of changes; black, purple, green, and now yellow.

Can't let a little injury like that slow you down. John was back on the court this week. Tate has grown to really enjoy Sesame Street. Especially Elmo. We have a couple Elmo movies that he just loves singing and dancing to. This week John showed Tate that Elmo is on the computer too! There is a pretty fun interactive Sesame Street website that Tate loves now! He climbs up on John's desk and plays the peek-a-boo game and watches the Grover Bath time video clip. The problem is Tate just makes himself at home moving all John's work stuff off the desk by usually shoving it on the ground, cracker crumbs are everywhere, but we have one happy boy. I keep reminding John he's the one that started this.

Really, John is just in a weakened condition, having lost so much weight! If he was at his former fighting weight, he wouldn't have any marks, right? Either that or he's gotten meaner while he's been so hungry on the diet.

Tom has come home wounded as well. I'm not sure what happens to these guys when they step on the court... :)
