John's birthday on February 22nd wraps up the birthday season at our house!
Good thing John is pretty low-key when it comes to birthdays because Tate's party was enough work for the both of them combined.
As long as John gets his Dairy Queen icecream cake, he's happy.
I've learned through these years of marriage how important it is to him that is comes from Dairy Queen:) I guess it's like me and my birthday cheesecake.
John's birthday fell on a Saturday and I took him out for a birthday breakfast.
The boys were happy to get to play with their favorite babysitter and I was more then happy to eat breakfast "kids-free!"
A co-worker of John's recommended a restaurant in Post Falls called the Old European.
It was a fun place with German inspired breakfast foods.
They had aebleskivers which made me think of my Grandma Macbeth that used to make those for us!
We enjoyed our morning together and when we got home the boys were excited to get out the cake.
John was happy to count only 11 candles on the cake.
Most of the time John doesn't remember how old he is (I guess he really is getting old if his memory is going already!). Eleven candles fit perfectly around the cake and that happened to be how many candles I had in the cupboard:)
The boys LOVE blowing out candles and had the candles out before John could make a wish.
Then they continued being helpers and opened all the presents.
A fun filled family-birthday-Saturday!

We love John because he tries so hard to be a good dad and husband. He shows his kids how to be good to their mother by helping her with all the jobs around the house and the yard. We love him because he is always happy to see us (or he makes us feel like he is.) We are very happy he is part of our family.
