A Troll Hunt

A few months ago the boys were totally into watching Dora.
Dora.  All. The. Time.
There is this friendly little troll on that show that usually has a riddle Dora and her friends have to answer before they can cross the bridge.
Us Seattleite's have our own troll.
The troll under the Fremont Bridge in Seattle.
I thought it would be so fun to take the boys on a troll hunt seeing as they love the troll on Dora.
My adventure didn't happen a few months ago (rainy weather and other stuff kept coming up).
We had a free Saturday last weekend before we move.
It was time to meet the troll.

After driving across the bridge a couple times trying to get to the troll below, John thinking maybe the troll had escaped and we should just go to the park, stopping for a potty break, I persisted and we found Mr. Troll.
I thought for sure the boys would think it was so cool.
Not so much.
Totally scared.
They walked up there to check him out and then turned right back around.
Didn't even want to touch him.
Ryan and Big-Tough-Dad were the only two willing to brave the troll for a picture.
I guess this troll isn't as friendly looking as the colorful, jolly troll from Dora.
There's the bridge the troll is guarding (it would look cooler if the picture didn't flip sideways?!).
They were done after five minutes.
Ready to go to the park.
Next stop...Gasworks Park.
Luckily it is close to the Troll and we made it there with no directional challenges.
It was a beautiful day...perfect for running around getting in the background of the wedding pictures happening, checking out the water planes landing and taking off, checking out the big boats on the lake, exploring all the big machinery, a fun family day.
The boys LOVE being in the back of the van.
Not the most comfortable spot, but good enough for a little picnic lunch.
I enjoyed checking out the troll.
The boys loved the park.
Everyone happy.
