We decided to put our zoo passes to work and go for Memorial Day since John had the day off of work and we roped Auntie Karrie to come too. We like going first thing in the morning while everyone is happy and then kids are worn out for the drive home:)
Our first stop is usually the aquarium.
The boys love the sharks and us adults are always equally impressed!
After getting our fill of the sharks and big fish we headed to the "touch and feel" station where the boys got to feel starfish and some other little ocean creatures. It was pretty busy with other kids, so we moved on to some bigger animals.
I don't think I've ever seen an elephant laying down.
But, this guy must have been tired because he didn't move.
We continued on to see the tiger. He was sleeping too, but it was cool to get to see him up close. Usually the tigers are hiding in the enclosure and we can't see them.
That is Blake doing his tiger "roar!"
Although after watching "We Bought a Zoo," I know that tigers don't roar, but making a chugging noise.
Blake by far was enjoying the animals most during this trip.
Ryan hung out in his stroller most of the time and Tate just wanted to keep moving along.
Blake would stop and just watch the puffins, or other animal, until we made him leave.
By far the best show was put on by these two polar bears.
We had stopped to take a little snack break by their display.
Luckily Karrie took the boys over to check them out and apparently Blake is fascinated by these guys.
Tate loved the polar bears because they are like his stuffed animal buddy named Puddy.
Those bears had a ball in the water that they kept playing with which was just a riot to watch!
Blake would not leave and yelled "Bear" the best he could loud enough so everyone moved out of his way so he could go up front to check them out.
Tate got a lift back to the car from the dad and we left before anyone had a breakdown or tears!
I would say a successful and fun trip.
A blue skies..... a bonus!

I think the polar bears were my favorite. Thanks for letting me tag along.
