A Christmas Tree Hunt

The day after Thanksgiving we headed out to Carver Farms to find the perfect Christmas tree.
It was a bit chilly.
One of these days I'll learn to remember hats and gloves.
At least I got all the boys in winter coats!
We warmed our cold fingers and bums by the fire....in the middle of the Christmas Tree farm!
Very smart of those Carver Farms folks.
Made for a more enjoyable experience.
We jumped on the hayride and headed out to the Christmas trees.
Good thing dad has big hands and can keep Ryan's warm!

We decided this year we wanted a tree that had branches a little more spaced out so the ornaments could hang better.
We were directed to the Spruce's.
After some walking up and down the Spruce Isles, we found our tree.
It was perfect.
Just big enough.
Tall.
Good point for the star to sit on.
We all agreed this tree would look just right in our house.
John got to work cutting it down.
We took the hayride back to the farmhouse to collect our tree, get some hot chocolate, a candy cane and then homeward bound.
It started snowing as we were getting the tree up and decorated when we got home.
I couldn't have imagined a better day.
Decorations and lights were hung.
Boys had naps.
A great start to the Christmas season.
