October Madness

Madness in that my phone memory card ate about 300 of my pictures.
So. So. Sad.
No pumpkin patch pictures.
No pictures of the park and our new friends.
Trying to just get over it and move on.
October has been full of lots of fun activities.
We did go out to Green Bluffs to get pumpkins.
The kids enjoyed the corn maze, the train ride, haunted bouncy house, kids experiment area, getting a white pumpkin and a pumpkin with warts on it.
Tate decided months ago Blake and him were going to be witches for Halloween and Ryan was going to be their black cat.
Not wizards.
No Harry Potter.
Just witches.
I like the "classic" Halloween costumes and was happy to make that happen.
The pumpkins turned out just scary enough for the boys.
John helped do the pumpkin cleaning and I helped carve the pumpkins.
The boys names the white pumpkin "Ghosty."
Blake was incharge of the snack basket and the letter of the week was L.
We made lemon poppyseed muffins, lime jigglers, lemonade and ghost lollipops.
I guess the lollipops smelled good?!
I wish I had the pictures on my phone of the incredible trees.
It has been so much fun driving down the road and seeing yellow, red and orange trees all in a row.
Just beautiful.
Now all the leaves have fallen and we even got our first snow flurry on Sunday!
We were invited to our friend's the Goates for a Halloween dinner.
It was so much fun to spend a spooky evening playing games with friends and enjoying witches brew, skeleton bones, and ghost eyeballs.
The Goates oldest son Alex was sitting next to Blake telling him the names of all this food, and Blake totally believed him and stopped eating.
He wasn't about to eat bones or eyeballs.
The look on Blake's face was great.
Ryan got turned into a mummy....
and the kids made ghosts.  No party is complete without a craft:)
We also started a playgroup this month with a few friends from church.
We get together each Wednesday and let the kids, 9 total, play.
We do a craft, have a snack and enjoy some mommy company too.
The day before Halloween was our week to host playgroup and we had a great time planning a Halloween party for our new friends.
We decided to not do costumes because Kindergarten starts right after playgroup and they got to get dressed up for that the next day.
The kids decorated cookies.
The little kids ate the candies to put on the cookies.

The cookies were very creative...lot of frosting piled on.
My kind of cookie!
We played pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern.....did a cake walk with prizes instead of cake....
and colored monsters.
I didn't seem to get any pictures of our spooky lunch, but the kids had pumpkin jigglers, ghosts quesadillas, peep pops, mummy dogs and some other yummy treats.
It was a fun morning for sure.
I wish our other Seattle playgroup buddies could have been here too...we miss them.
