We Did the Fair

We love the fair!
We've made a tradition of going to the Evergreen State Fair for a number of years.
I love seeing all the animals and just wondering around with the boys.
Last Saturday all the painting projects were pretty much done, so we celebrated at the Spokane Fair.
First stop was the train.
We loaded in and took a nice ride around part of the fair grounds.
Tate actually enjoyed the ride despite his unenthusiastic faces!
Ryan loved the choo-choo!
He's very much into trains these days.
We did find some animals.
The boys weren't as excited about the animals as I hoped.
I guess it was mainly Tate who thought the animals were too stinky (they were), and just wanted to go do the rides.
John was happy because he found a delicious steak sandwich for lunch.
Tate was NOT happy when he got stung right on the top of his ear while we were watching the pig races.  That put a damper on things.
We went to the first aid station and there were three other kids that had also gotten stung.
Apparently the hornets were pretty aggressive.
He got an ice pack and a sticker and seemed to take it in stride.
The boys got to pick one game to play (because it is SOOOO expensive for three boys to play a game).
They chose the duck pond and all the boys got to choose a small stuffed animal.
It took them a while to settle on who got which color stuffed duck, but we left with smiles on their faces.
I count all activities that end in two out of three kids asleep before we even get out of the parking lot--a success!!!
