As I mentioned in the last post, the Krohn's from Colorado stopped by for a few days to visit on their way home from Disneyland. We were trying to figure out how long it has been since we've seen them. Non of us could really remember, which means it has been WAY TOO long, but we all thought about a year and a half. It was great seeing Steve and Jill's kids and how much they've grown. Their oldest Andy is such a sweetie and loved Tate! They took us out to dinner their first night here and it was such a nice time, even with kids, because Andy kept Tate totally entertained. Tate wanted to sit by Andy while he ate. Tate even ordered the same thing Andy did. It was very cute.
Blake enjoyed being "fussed over" and was a pretty good sport staying happy since it was way past his bed time. Red Robin french fries will make any kid (and probably adult), happy to be awake!
The greatest thing happened that night after dinner. Blake really started walking! I don't know if it was all the attention and everyone cheering him on, but he actually took off and walked across the room-right to Uncle Steve. Blake really liked Uncle Steve. Maybe because Steve looks a lot like Blake's daddy, but it was sweet seeing them together.
I thought for sure Blake would have been walking long before he was 17 months old. But, I'm learning again not to compare my children and Blake will do it when he is good and ready. Blake has great balance and has been able to stand on his own for a while now. He even was willing, every now and then, to take some steps before falling into my arms. But, now, I say he can walk! Even if he still prefers crawling, his quickest method of getting around. We were sorry to see Steve's family leave, but looking forward to seeing them again next summer at the next Krohn Family Reunion.
